WHY SHOULD I TRUST YOU? WHO THE F**K ARE YOU?!

Somehow, another human randomly placed on a rock floating through space that you don’t know at all... can make you cry, smile, think and dance all through vibrations on a tiny speaker. The majority of us are so hardened by this world that we barely show these emotions to the people closest to us, people that we’ve known all our lives. How can it be that someone we’ve never met can make us feel all these things?

YOU TRUST THEM!

You trust them enough to let them in and make you feel the things that you avoid in the real world, around the people you love most. I think the world has lost appreciation for how intimate of a connection this is. The artist/fan relationship has been so shambled by “marketing trends” that we forget how spiritual music’s roots are.

Simplify all the bullshit you’re balancing in your head down to these three questions... The universe will fill in the blanks from there!

WHO THE F**K ARE YOU?

When “marketing” yourself, the only thing that matters is yourself and remaining true to that at all costs. WHO THE F**K ARE YOU? If you can’t answer this question simply and solidly then literally stop EVERYTHING else you’re doing and figure that tf out because shit will get real confusing, real quick. No, that doesn’t mean have your life “figured out” or stay in that form once you do figure it out, but you have to at least know who you are currently. Solid enough to express that to people so they know who they’re deciding to grow with.

WHO ARE YOUR FANS?

Okay congrats, you now know yourself LMAO. Now the question is, WHO ARE YOU TALKING TO? 9/10 this answer will be the same as the first. As artists we have a tendency to either speak to our current selves or younger versions of ourselves, whether consciously or subconsciously. Which makes knowing the first answer that much more important! As an artist of any kind, you are influencing thoughts, feelings and sometimes even decisions. Knowing who you’re speaking to is the biggest key to doing that successfully, safely and sustainably.

HOW WILL YOU REACH THEM?

As much as social media will have you believe different... IF YOU BUILD IT THEY WILL COME. It literally doesn’t matter what it is. Human beings are so nuanced that if you put a million different lanes on a board, throw a dart blindfolded at one and ran with it... millions of people would be there for it! This is just another reason why the first question is KEY! Once you know who you are, lean all the way into it. There’s more of YOU out there! However you personally decide to reach your people, the only thing necessary to succeed is to STAY CONSISTENT. As scary as it is to start, the kinks will work themselves out as they go. DO NOT BE PARALYZED BY FEAR. Failure lines the path to success. Believe in yourself! I DO!!!
